Kano State Fire Service Reports N132m Property Loss Due to Fires
Under the guidance of Hassan Muhammad, the Kano State Fire Service has revealed that property valued at over N132,450,000 was destroyed in various fire incidents throughout November.
In the course of their operations, the service managed to rescue at least three individuals while responding to 43 fire-related calls during the same month. Sadly, the reports indicated that three lives were lost despite their efforts to save others, with four individuals successfully rescued.
Spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, provided a detailed account of the service’s activities, noting that personnel safeguarded assets worth N310,600,000. The service also dealt with six false alarms and five rescue requests while receiving emergency calls from its 29 stations spread across the region.
Abdullahi took the opportunity to remind the public about the importance of fire safety, particularly during the harmattan season. He urged everyone to exercise caution when handling fire and advised motorists to drive carefully and adhere to traffic regulations, especially as they embark on Christmas holiday travels to prevent road accidents.
