Dammy Krane Urges Tinubu to Reopen Investigation Into Tagbo’s Death

Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has once again stirred controversy by accusing Afrobeat star Davido (David Adeleke) of involvement in the death of their mutual friend, Tagbo. Tagbo allegedly died from excessive alcohol consumption in 2017, and Dammy Krane has repeatedly pointed fingers at Davido, reigniting the issue years later.

In a recent open letter, Dammy Krane appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to investigate what he describes as a cover-up orchestrated by powerful individuals using their financial influence. According to him, justice for Tagbo has been long overdue, and he believes the matter was swept under the rug by “oppressors.”

The renewed allegations have sparked widespread reactions, with many social media users criticizing Him for his persistence. Some see his actions as an attention-seeking ploy. One user, Ishaku, dismissed him with, “lol attention seeker,” while another, Adesuakk, wrote, “Dammy Krane has become bitter. Please focus on your dead career and leave Davido alone.”

Adding fuel to the fire,  Krane hinted in another post that Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, could be the country’s next leader, further surprising many with his dramatic statements.

In addition to his public accusations, Dammy Krane submitted a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, alleging that Davido had sent allies to threaten his life after he demanded payment of dues he claims Davido owes him. In the petition, he also called for a fresh investigation into Tagbo’s death and for Davido, who was previously considered a suspect, to face legal action in court.

This latest round of accusations has left the public divided, with some sympathizing with Dammy Krane’s pursuit of justice and others viewing his actions as a desperate attempt to regain relevance. As the controversy continues, the question remains: will Tagbo’s case be reopened, or will these allegations fade away once again?
