Tinubu demands Finance Minister show new minimum wage plan within 48 hours.
President Bola Tinubu has instructed Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, to determine the financial ramifications of the new minimum wage within a 48-hour timeframe.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, revealed this information during a press briefing with State House Correspondents following a meeting the negotiation team had with the president at Aso Rock on Tuesday.
He stated that all parties involved in the negotiations for the new minimum wage would collaborate with organized labor to propose a new minimum wage for Nigerians within one week.
“We will all diligently collaborate over the next week to establish a new Nigerian wage that is both suitable, enduring, and practical.”
The strike initiated by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, on Monday has been suspended for one week to allow for more discussions with the Federal Government.
